Description:
Lacerum® PRP ReGen is an equine platelet-rich plasma solution for topical application to promote healing of wounds. It is prepared in a closed system from allogeneic/ homologous equine whole blood. The resulting solution has a platelet count range between 1.8x1011 -8.4x1011.
When activated by a patented process, the platelets release substances that aid in the wound healing process. Efficacy was demonstrated by evaluation of time to heal when compared to conventional treatment, and reduction and/of elimination of scarring as demonstrated by lack of change in hair color and skin pigmentation.
Solution is stored in a frozen state (-12 degrees C to - 30 degrees C).
Indications and Usage:
Lacerum® PRP ReGen is indicated for treatment of all wounds and especially those that occur below the knee and hock on the lower leg of the horse. Use of Lacerum® PRP ReGen expedites the healing process and coupled with good wound management, reduces the time to heal and complications associated with a lengthy healing process by current therapy. An additional benefit is reduced scarring with no change in hair color or skin pigmentation.
Dosage and Administration:
Clean wound thoroughly with Rem X plasma protein wash. Thaw Lacerum® PRP ReGen solution just prior to use. Mix one dose (10 ml vial) Lacerum PRP ReGen with activator in the activation tray (both provided). Once activated, immediately apply to a sterile dressing and then apply this dressing to the wound. Wrap the wound and dressing and leave undisturbed for 3-7 days. Unwrap the wound and observe for signs of healing and new skin growth. This treatment process may be repeated until the wound is healed.

Autologous Product:
Lacerum® A (autologous) solution is packed in 10 ml single-dose vials specifically for the horse the blood was collected from. As a result of this there will be approximately 15 doses per package.
Lacerum® An Application includes:
- 15 doses of Lacerum® A
- 20 doses of Rem X
- 15 Activators
- 15 Activator trays
Precaution:
Lacerum® A is derived from an autologous source, it may not have been as thoroughly tested as Lacerum® material derived from an allogeneic/ homologous source. Lacerum® A is to be used on the horse from which is was drawn to prevent any possible risk of exposure to infectious agents.
