This shoe is designed to greatly enhance the breakover of the hind feet of speed horses. Breakover is very close to the widest part of the foot, offering tremendous relief to crushed heels and steep coronary bands.
The #3 Hind Dan Race is available in four different styles. The original shoe is milled from 3/8 inch aluminum and is significantly lighter. The 2nd is a thicker version of this shoe milled from 1/2 inch aluminum. The third is the thicker version milled from 1/2 inch aluminum and features tabs for pulling clips. The fourth is the thicker 1/2 inch aluminum, features tabs, and has a wear plate.
